Default Tire sizes and lift kit for 03 AC 300 4x4

I ordered 26(front) and 27(rear) Gators and a highlifter lift kit. Will I run into any problems with these size tires? I am looking for maximum ground clearance and the ability to dig through the gumbo mud we have here in the Atchafalya river basin of Louisiana.

Thanks,

Ben

You might run into a power problem for the 26 and 27 inch tires take more power to turn. You will also possibly have problems of having two different sized tires cause when you are in 4x4 everything will bind up but in the mud you might be ok just don't run it down the road in 4x4, and well i had a 500 automatic and that poor 500 struggled to turn the 27 inch tires in really mucky mud be prepared to use super low range and over rev alot. I would personallyl get 26 inch for the back tiresas well, sometimes power is better then clearance.

The reason I was going with the different sizes for front and back was that the stock tires were different sizes (24 and 25).

Ben, You are right about the different sized tires on the 300; the gear ratios are different also. However the step up that you took is way so much. Should have gone no more than an inch bigger with tires because the 300 isn't the biggest powerhouse out there. You should have relied on the lift kit for the rest. My Moose Utility kit gave me better than 2 and a half inches of lift. So far tires are stock as deep snow is my issue. Don't mud hole run; rivers, creeks and streams and a few minor swamps sometimes. Mostly trails and logging roads.

It will bog it some, but you will be able to turn them over in 1st gear. Won't be able to spin them like crazy, but it will still work. And you were correct on your tire size. Need a 1" shorter tire in the front on the 300's.

I guess a person learns something new each day i had a 300 and didn't even realize they had different sized tires on the front compared to the back. I never messed with the tires for when i went into the mud i had to over rev with the stock tires to go through the really bad stuff but good luck with your 300 it is a pretty good solid machine.
