Default 02 Eiger cooling fan not turning on.

The red temp light came on yesterday which made me realize that the cooling fan had not been running, How do I test the fan switch which is located next to the oil filter? Any advice is appreciated.

first check your connections...there is a connector with two wires going into it that goes directly onto your motor...and there is also a two wire going into your oil cooler fan (i believe)...

first take off the one going to the fan and stick that fan directly to a battery to see if it still spins. I just had to replace my radiator fan motor on my 03 vinson. It had about 40 hours on it and it already just died.

i have an eiger and if you ever ride it through brush or sticks then they have a way of making thier presence known by getting stuck in the fan so first thing to check rather than taking apart wire connections is if the fan will spin free then take the stick or twig out of the fan next pop your seat off and check your fuse because its gonna be popped you should have a spare if you don't and your out on the trail you can sub by stealing the low beam fuse or the 12 volt acc port

Found the problem. The wires running from the fan thermo switch have been yanked/cut even with the plug!! There's at least 6 inches of wire missing between the switch and wire connection to the harrness. Not sure how the heck that happened. Don't see a way to reattach the wires. Guess I'll be ordering another switch. $80+ (OUCH!)
