Default notchy shifting on a LTZ-250?

On my '04 Z-250 the shifting is crappy from neutral to first, and neutral to reverse. Sometimes when shifting into first the lever goes up but not all the way, so to get it into first I have to give it a little gas and then the lever clicks up. To get it into reverse sometimes I have to shift down very hard to get it in. My bike is under warranty, has anyone had this problem, and what did you or the dealer do to fix it?

Josh

At first mine was really notchy, but now it doesn't seem to be a problem now. Every once in a while I will have to give it a little bit of gas or rock it just a little bit to get it to go into reverse or 1st, but no big deal. Guess its just habit too now, I don't really think about it.

I took it to the dealer, they fixed it, what it was was there was play in the shifting lever that was binding up. The reason they said it only did it from neutral to first is because of how far you have to lift up to get it in, so they shortened that up too. Im going to get a pipe, the guy that works there had a t4 exhaust and header pipe, it was alot more powerful, it will probably cost me 430 dollars for everything!!!
