I have an 85 atc 250r. I run golden spectro oil with high(92) octane gas. On the back of the bottle of oil it says mix one bottle with five gallons of gas to get 50:1. The person I bought it from said he has been doing this for as long as he can remember and he has never had any engine trouble at all. This bike has a fresh top and bottom end rebuild on it and runs great. I was just wondering if this mixture is to rich.

I only ride at the dunes and I want my bike to last forever but I also want as much power as I can. What is a good mixture to run without going to lean and damaging the motor?

 

i run 32:1. my uncles ran 50:1 golden spectro for years and didnt have problems. id be conservative and run something like 40:1. 50:1 is on the lean side more so than rich.
