my 2001, blaster i just did a complete top end, .020 over wiseco, and bore job, also installed a reed spacer from nac's. the thing was running great breaking it in like any 2 stroke should, all the sudden it just made so noize from the kicker area, so i shut it off, started right back up, and then shut off on its own. the motors not locked, seized, or any top or bottom end problem, it still has gobs of compression, and smooth turning over action. the kicker however seems as if it will not grab, it only "grabs" when i kick it over by hand, but when i do a fast normal kick it just slips, or gets a half of kick. could the kick starter spring, or gear be miss alinged i know the cover has been off before. please help me i could use a few pointers being i just spent some more money on it.

plug is the coffie brown, not alot of oil, but not dry or drenched.

my advice is, pull the cover, and check everthing out and make sure it`s ok, it kinda sounds like ur gear is going south

 

yea seems to me that that half gear is too far down so im not getting a good kick, dont get why it died tho??

it died because the kicker gear spun out on the worm shaft and caught the clutch gear, your clip must not be aligned in the groove, or the spring has popped out of the hole in the cover.

 

any ideas as how to fix this seems just like a realingment right?
