Problem with Sportman OEM tire replacement
#1
I'm looking for a tire replacement for my rear OEM tires (25x11x12), which are an unusual size. Does anyone know what is recommended alternative size?
I've been seeing sizes like 25x10x12, 26x12x12 or 25x12.5x12. Will they fit the wheel without problems?
I'm thinking of buying ITP Mud Lites or Kenda Bearclaw.
I already tried to email Polaris and they sent me to their 'Dealers' location webpage... (Without comments)

I run a set of Mud Lites on a Sportsman 500 and I'm very happy with them. I was worried about the softer rubber wearing out but they are holding up great. They ride very smooth and provide excellent tractionin the mud and rock. I have heard good thing about the Bear Claw but I have never ran them. hopfully you will get some good advise on them without people being biased. I think you would be happy either way.

Just got an answer from my dealer. They don't sell the Bearclaw 25x10x12, just the 25x12.5x12. It seems that they don't import this size to Portugal. Unbelievable...
Won’t the 25x12.5x12 be excessive?
Thanks for helping.

I wouldn't worry about it. Pick the tire you like and get the closest size. As long as the outside diameter and the rim diameter match. There is more variation in seperate tire manafacturers than from the 12 to the 12.5. A square faced tire that is sized narrower will leave as big or bigger footprint than a wider sized tire that is kinda like a balloon. The mud lites don't seem to be as square as the bear claws.
