Default P-360 Jetting

Oleman, wanted to get back to you regarding your question on the 145 main I used.. Didn't get to do to much full throttle with it because I was riding at the inlaw's private land where the speed limit is 15mph but I did sneak a few full runs with it wide open. I took it out & replaced it with a 148 because I was getting some popping out of the exhaust going down hill, wich from what I understand is a lean condition.. After installing the 148 I seem to have elimanated this & all seems to be good. Extra power, maybe but dont feel any.

Hey pard
What altitude are you?
I'm at 4100 and was considering the Twin Air as well as a rejet but needed a baseline to begin with.
Thanks.

I live at 4500 ft but generally ride between 6000 - 10,500 ft.. Stock your at 155, I noticed a good differnce from 155 - 150 when I would get above 9000 ft.. Stock I would loose noticable power at higher elevations, but when I re-jeted to 150 I didn't loose near the power at the higher elevations.. Kawi recomends a 145 for the elevations I ride but I found it was to lean, maybe because of the twin air, dont know!! but I think 148 is the ticker for me!

hey Uinthas
been waiting to hear your results--I am still running the 150 main, but have noticed that the last ring on the spark plug is still black--Lately I tried the sidegapping method on my spark plug, and it lightened up a little and seems to run a tad better---dont get the impression that my plug is sooty black, thats not what i mean, it is just not white or tan colored.

I bought a hotter plug DPR7EA9 and popped it in but have not looked at it yet. I also have not sidegapped the hotter plug yet either.

I am looking at getting a set of tires and rims though---really leaning toward the Goodyear trackers---I dont know enough about rims yet to order any---seems the ITP C series is popular

Know anything about rims???????

I know nothing about rims, just hear people rant and rave about the C-series so I guess if I were to buy some I'd look into those..

My top thread is still black as well, but the ground tip (I guess that is what you call it) is always white & gets whiter with a leaner plug, so I'm not taking any chances & sticking with the 148. I looked at KOD plugs & mine look allot like his but a bit whiter on the ground tip ..

Olemanmoses- I'm in Gettysburg, and am curious about your carb settings as mine should be the same. Is it difficult to pull the carb and set it up like yours? Did the muffler mod make a difference? When I bought mine, the top speed was about 40 mph. I found my belt deflection to be pretty far off, and after getting the deflection right, and installing the black spring, my top speed went up to around 45. But I noticed that it lacks the power to pull a hill very well, and I think some carb adjustments may be in order. Just want to make sure that I don't get it too lean, because I don't want any trouble this winter, when I go to plow.
Uinthas - sorry to highjack your post, but I couldn't figure out how to send a PM

Wow---seems the 360 is really starting to become a player---welcome aboard cantspell------I was so scared to touch my carb when bike was new (will be 1 year old next week) that i bought a dial a jet thinkin this was the answer to getting some performance outta this machine----since then I have scrapped the dial a jet and have taken the carb apart so much I had to buy allen screws at LOWES to replace the stripped phillips heads--

It is a pain in the a$$ gettin to the carbs---you have to pull gas tank off---I rode around for probly 2 weeks without the gas tank shroud cover on to make it easier to access the carbs.

I really like my muffler mod---my 360 sounds stock at idle and low rpm but thumps pretty good when I get on it---I would look into the HMF slip on pipe if I had to do it again though--pm me if you need more muffler info

I also put the degree key in before rejetting carb, and I did not notice any difference in performance.

I dont know if shimming the needles just pulled all my mods together or if this is the key to 360 performance, but shimming my needles gave me some awesome midrange

I gained about 3 MPH on top end by going from the stock 155 main down to a 150. I tried larger jets all the way to a 180 main, and bike kept running worse, the larger I went.

The 360 is a big heavy bike and is not known for top speed---I topped out at 48mph (47.6 on a GPS) on a downhill grade.

I would Suggest:
Shim needles or buy a carb performance kit for the 360
Lean out main jet to at least a 150
HMF slip on pipe or do the NYROC muffler mod
Black Secondary spring for clutches
Run only cheap gas (my top speed is less and backfires more with high test)
And Stay Tuned -- this sight is awesome!

Well I shimmed the needle .030 to begin. Feel a little better mid just with that.
I think the 148 or 150 jet is gonna be the ticket with a muffler mod
This is a little off topic but
did a valve adjustment today on the exh valve
Was at .0015 to begin put it at .0070.
Man what a difference in the idle
Compression went from 98 to 101. Guess that exh valve was lettin a little out.
I read on here or somewhere else somebody posted that the valve adjustment seemed to be more critical on the 360 .
Whoever said that, Thanks. They were right.
All these little tips you guys are puttin out because of the time and effort spent that make my ride peppier,
Once again THANKS.
