::::TECH HELP PLEASE:::: 4 Snow tires on a Banshee
#2
Pat, I think they will work fine. Danny runs Pro Wedge 501s on his Banshee with the stock metal footguards. I think they are 22x10x9 and he doesn't have any clearance problems.

Good deal. Not to be an advice ***** but I read that webpage that compares the 4 Snows against the Pro Wedge II's. Do you think that the 4 Snows being a pound lighter would make any real difference? Not that those two pounds would counteract my extra pounds. I guess I should go on a diet but those pizza rolls and Corona's keep calling to me...

Before considering weight, I would consider traction. I'm not sure what difference there is, if any, might want to get Jay's opinion about that. Heck, I've got a set of IIs that I'll let you try before you buy anything or afterwards if you want to test.

Hmm... Well, us Riley boys like to make rash decisions and then ask questions later so this is pretty much going against every grain of my being. I'd like to test them out but my desk pounding arm is telling me to buy, buy, buy.... Sorry, its late. Maybe I should just forget everything and make the decision like my ex-girlfriend and just buy one or the other based on how they look. The yellow letters on the Maxxis tires look kind of drag style but I really prefer just an all black tire. Don't those tires work better on an 8 inch wheel. Wouldn't those 9's keep them from ballooning as well?

The Pro Wedge IIs are on 8" diameter wheels, the 501s are on 9" diameter wheels.
I prefer the IIs because the tread is wider than on the 501s. I've seen them on 8" and 9" wide wheels and prefer them on the 9s. I've not seen them on a 10" wide wheel, but I believe that would be too wide. I like the ballooning effect of the Wedges. It allows you decent top speed while running a lower gear.
