Could I put a warrior motor/trany in a 91 trailboss?
#5
I'am just wanting to start a "project bike" and this is what I have. A 91 trailboss all good- less the motor. 99 warrior tranny and motor available cheap. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
I'am just afraid of the polaris 2-stroke after having it blow twice.

Theres so much room in a trailboss where the motor sits I'm sure its possible. you'd have to reverse the rear sprocket though so it is on the left side no the right side I think. Are the 92 trailboss's the same as the new ones? Are they still right side driven?

If you've got all the parts and some time on your hands, I say go for it............
Classic sleeper quad!
I've seen a IT490 motor installed in a blaster frame.......real clean and stealth install.
They guy would line up against banshee riders at Comp Hill, who'd laugh and point, until the guy blew by them repeatedly.
Sounds like a fun project, go for it.

Shavo- lack of better words "afraid" meaning I"am just tired of rebuilding the dang thing. I dont know about others but this bike has had its share of blown motors, mostly due to the poor design of the oil pumping system. It had problems getting oil. I feel if I get a good dependabel 4-stroke in that frame at a resonable cost I wouldn't want to get rid of the bike the way it is. Besides what a great learnign experience.
