Default prairie 650 4wd question KOD & NYROC?

my brothers 02 prairie 650 wont engage 4wd, when he did an ohms test to service manual specifications only the actuator on the belt housing cover seemed to be out of wack. he doesnt have engine braking or 4wd. it doesnt flash the code(flashing 4wd-2wd) though. he checked all of the fuses and they are fine. could the actual switch on the handle bars be bad? or could the battery being run down cause this problem? its the original battery(1700 miles). any info would be greatly appreciated

I know you said you checked all the fuses but be sure and double check the Controllers 10amp fuse.

You can check the speed sensor and the Forward/Reverse sensor.

This is the first time I have seen this happen and the display unit doesnt flash 2wd/4wd. Hopefully someone can help.

Try checking the speed sensor . It is on the right side of the motor down behind the rear brake pedal. It is a little black connection with wires coming from it. If that isn't working the bike won't go in four wheel drive and I don't think the engine brake will work either. A stick or something could have got up there and hit it. It's worth a shot.

thanks fellas, we found the problem. daaaaaa it was a fuse, it wasnt blown or seperated when you look at it, it just didnt work. we tried everything under the sun, battery, switch, actuators, and it was the fuse. popped in a new one and WAMO 4wd. glad it was a cheap fix.

Im glad it was the fuse also. Was it the controller 10amp fuse or another one?
