Once you start modding them, the Xplorer will easily take the scrambler if you put some $$$ into the motor

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

It depends on how you set the Explorer up.You can pipe and clutch it for low end torque or for topend. My 400 has good bottom and midrange but still wont hold a candle to my Scrambler. The 400 WILL hold its own agains the big utes in the mud and trails.

Very true. The nice thing about the Xplorer it is uses the 400L motor and will accept the same mods as the scrambler 400. 85+ horsepower on a ute!!!

My dads 400 Explorer (Mods and pics in gallery) will eat any 500 Scrambler. And I do mean ANY. But rightfully so, as he has alot of money invested, and there is more room for hop ups on a two stroke 400 motor. Its great in the mud or in a drag race.

Since the Xplorer already has low range, I can't see why anyone would concentrate on mods for more bottom end. Modded for even power across the rev range will still yield plenty of bottom end in low range.
