Default which sport quad for my wife???

I need some help on picking a sport quad for my wife. I been riding as long as I can remember and for the past 5 or so years I've been riding a lt250r that my dad and I have put a ton of work into. I got married about a year ago and I'm starting to get my wife involved in the atv scene (particularly the sand dunes). She had limited riding experience on her dad's 4x4 and I've taken her to the dunes a few times and she rode my mom's 250 trailblazer. She's getting really excited about it and wants her own atv. She's a little nervous about shifting, but she rode my lt250r a bit and done fine. I grew up on a blaster and loved it. I was thinking that would be perfect for her to learn on (she's 5'7" and about 125 lbs). That's really the only beginner quad that I've ridden and would like some opinions on what you guys would do in my situation. I was thinking maybe a 300ex as well but I have no idea how they perform at the dunes. I don't want to spent a ton of money because, if she likes it, I would eventually like to get her a z400 in a year or so. Let me know whay you all think. The Blaster will be the cheapest, and certainly the most fun in the sand. Lots of mods available! The Blaster can be a little more challenging on the trail for a beginner, because of the pipey 2-stroke motor. It is 50 lbs. lighter than the 300EX!

300EX is a solid machine. Mods up pretty well. Does well in the sand. Probably the best trail bike ever built!

I wouldn't keep the stock tires on either machine!

Personally, I would recommend just getting her the Z400 now. I have been riding for a little under 2 years and I am on my 3rd quad. I started on a scrambler 500. I only rode it maybe 3 or 4 times and realized it was definitely the wrong quad for me, so traded that in and got a Raptor. Now a year and a half later, I am riding a yfz450.
My point is, if you plan on eventually getting her the Z, you would be better off just getting it now or you will lose money if you decide to trade or sell the blaster to get the Z. As far as shifting goes, she will pick it up in no time. Also, the Z400 has better suspension than a Blaster and the four stroke power band is a little more forgiving that a two stroke and you don't have to shift as often. You should take her to the dealership and let her sit on both, and ask if she can test ride both, that way she can decide which one she feels more comfortable with.

If your on a budget the blaster is a great little bike But if money is not an issue you could get bigger bore bikes like 400ex, Z/KFZ/DVX.

z250 or 250ex would be perfect.......................

Blaster might be a big much on the power scale and a z400 would be WAY MORE quad than she could handle IMO. A z400 is not a beginner quad.

400EX for $4100 plus tax and lic. if you hurry before the 04's are gone. For that price you don't need reverse.
