Kodiak vs Rancher---Torque and Traction

Has anyoone had the good fortune to test these machines against eachother? I am considering buying one or the other and have two nagging questions:
1. Is the front wheel traction system on the Rancher really any better than the conventional system on the new Kodiak?
2. The Kodiak has 70 more cc's, but a belt transmission. So will belt slip negate the advantage of the Kodiak over the smaller Honda engine when it comes to crawling over rocks or pulling a heavy load? (please don't just quote towing capacities)
