Busted rear boot with some clicking???

Busted rear boot with some clicking???
I have a sportsman 500 HO 04.5 model. I discovered today that I have a busted boot. I have rode about 2 hours or so with it busted. It makes some clicking at times. Does this mean the axel needs changed? What all do I need to do? Thanks. Dobie

Busted rear boot with some clicking???
I had the same problem. Due to the price of a new cv joint, I simply replaced the boot after completely cleaning out the cv joint and regreasing. It still clicks now and then, but I figure I can probably get another 1000 miles out of it before replacement.
