So what do you think of the IRS system that HSD Racing is offering? It sounds great, better control in all conditions, landing sideways off of jumps, or hitting the woops crooked not being a problem anymore. Sounds like it would be a great mod for the MX track. What do you think?

weight, its the wieght, with the added wieght its going to less handling as a solid axle. It sounds great, but its the ONLY quad that he has made, thats what i got out of the article. and when you are coming out of corners, most the time if you are a good rider such as myself, you have your rear wheels glued to the track and roosting that corner... i dont see it happening in the MX circuit.

Weight, leaning through corners, and leaning on sidehills. Those are the three major problems I see with it. The way I see it, IRS is no better at keeping all four wheels on the ground than a straight-axle. The reason being that the rear end on a straight axle will sit with both tires on the ground, and the front suspention will adjust to the terrain so both of them also rest on the ground.

I think its pretty cool. he's been working on the suspension for years now. I saw a few years back in a mag one of his first bikes he tried it on and it had a lot of roll in the corners. the set-up he has now seems to be a lot better. looks a lot like my RC stadium racer.

I say their gonna make lighter compenants all the way around and make a sport quad that weighs less than one w/ a straight axle and will cost twice as much because it will be made of high strenght light metal like titanium. Technolagy is advancing quick and if someone gets enough cash from a sponsor they will be able to produce a line of a few independant suspension quads and sorry to say but they will most likely take over the quad market in 5-10-20 years.

Johnny, I hope you do well also. Please post how you do. I still believe that the IRS will shine bright if properly set up.
