I friend of mine gave me a new Ramsey winch remote control (10 foot cable I think), but he didn't have the socket that it plugs into (it went with the ATV he had installed it on). I'd like to use it with my Warn 2.5 winch. Can anyone with a Ramsey winch tell me the part number for the socket? I've written to a couple of Ramsey winch dealers for prices, but I haven't received a reply yet.....

I think that the part # that you are needing is either a RAMR01, RAMR02, RAMR03, or an RAMR04. those are all remote kits of some kind but I am a Ramsey Dealer and I am showing them to be Not Availible at this time.

Thanks for the reply. I think you're on the right track, but when I looked up the part numbers you gave me it turned out to be wireless remote conversions for other brand winches using the Ramsey transmitter/receiver. I'm only looking for the socket that a handheld wired remote would plug in to. If you come up with that part number, I'd really appreciate it!

I called and checked with my distributor and they said they had no parts nor could give me a part # for that Item. The rep, said he couldnt remember seeing a Ramsey winch like the one that you have (had) so I am not really sure whats going on with that. wierd

Maybe I can find a different male/female combination and rewire it. I was hoping that this would be easy!!!!!

Wiring the Ramsey remote control to a Warn winch turned out to be quite easy. I figured out that a round 4-pole trailer socket fits the Ramsey winch plug perfectly. The round trailer socket is like the one on this site:
