Default Sticking winch switch

My winch rocker switch is hard to push and when it moves it makes a loud click that it didn't make before. I thought it was just dirty and sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner ($9.00 a can ) and that didn't do anything. I sprayed it with WD-40 and it's better but still not as easy to push as before. I think it will collect more dust since it's been lubed but I don't know what else to do. I'm afraid of losing small parts if I take it apart and I don't want to but a new switch as long as it works. Any other ideas?

I took mine apart and there is no parts inside to lose. My "Out" quit working so I,m just using the "In" and have to free spool for out now. I think you can buy them separately for $20 more then what you paid for your spray. NEW Heavy Duty Replacement ATV Winch Handle BAR Rocker Switch | eBay

Thanks TLC. Maybe I will take it apart. It feels like there are some kind of springs in it and I didn't want them to pop out.

If its like mine its a water tight sealed unit, not much to look at once you remove the two top screws and split the case.

It can't be any more complicated than the light and engine kill switches. I have taken plenty of those apart to clean over the years, no worries there aren't generally springs like pen springs. Plus you can buy a new one relatively cheaply.

After the WD-40 soaked in and I used the switch several times it's now smooth as butter. Time will tell if it attracts dirt like I thought it would. I didn't have to take it apart which a friend also told me is really simple anyway. Thanks for the replies.
