max price you would pay for a 700
#1
Well I can not seem to find an 04.5 500HO anywhere. There are tons of 700's out there. What is the max you would pay for a 700 non EFI? I was just quoted 6534.00 + tax. Seems high to me. They have two of them in the color I want and they will start reciving the 05's in a few weeks.

I'm in the same boat, but I think I'll get the 05 500 ($5800 plus tax) vs the 04.5 600-700 $5300 - 5600 plus tax. The 05's seem to have a lot of impovements, and the 500 is the "Gold Standard" of Poo ATV motors, the salesman said they have a shop full of the twins being repaired. However, this sales guy may have been an idiot. He claimed that the twins fired the cylinders at the same time. Is this true?? I understood that they're fired 360 deg apart to smooth out the power cycle. He did admit that they make more $ profit on the Jap stuff they sell Yamaha & Suzuki than Poo, which may explain the negitive vibes I got from him.
Bottom line.... The 05's are sweet and will have a higher resale the the end of run 04.5's

I agree I bought two 04.5 EFI's and I still call them 04's cause that's what they are. I paid 7250 for my 04' EFI but I got a $250 HJC chromium ac-x2 helmet, scott goggles, and an orv sticker with each of mine. My wifes cousin and I just picked up a carbed 700 a few weeks ago for $6565 out the door. the 600 was $6100 out the door and the 500 was $5995 out the door. so he figured for the extra hundred bucks it would have been well worth it to go from the 500 to the 600 and then from there it was only another 465 for the 700 so he got that one.
