Yes, smaller makes it go faster (top end). You can pick one up at any local motorcycle shop for pretty cheap. If you are looking for a high dollar one the I can give you a few links.

I have a 40T rear with 22" tires and it works GREAT for trail riding, but for flat fast rides the sprocket is too big. I top out around 66MPH.

Sprocket Specialists Has a ton of choices
After doing some looking for you, that is prob the best place for an aftermarket. Stock ones I can get for about $15
You can get the rear sprocket in a range from 34-74 teeth!!!!!!!!
If you want to change gearing you can also play with the front sprocket, they are WAY cheaper and easier to get a cheap one. As a suggestion....Get the cheapest sprocket you can find while you are playing with gearing, then when you find the correct combo buy the good stuff.
{on the front sprocket BIGGER is more top end)

if you have a 15 or 16 tooth front, THAT is you speed prob. Check it and I would go to around a 12 or 13

yea but when i had my 13 tooth on the front it would run really slow, shift gears rapidly, i checked and its a 15 tooth, but if i add smaller it would run slower, i want more speed, i checked everything my final ratio, gear ratios, tire size, and max rpms, and compared, my speed will run at 72mph. i at least want to hit 80. so bigger or smaller in the rear?

I'm sorry ...MY last post was backwards............15 tooth is good for what you want. But to answer your question, you want a smaller rear sprocket to get more top end speed.

More teeth in front = more speed
Less teeth on rear = more speed

yea its cool thats what i meant. ill try to get a bigger one. i saw a honda nighthawk i think thats what it is, at San Fransisco today it had a big sprocket on the front and on the rear it was really small. so yea smaller on rear makes it faster.
