Before you go tearing into the engine, adjust the cable. Better yet, replace the cable.

To ask a question, Are you using REGULAR motor oil, or synthetic...... me and all my riding buddies have all found out the hard way, MOTORCYCLE OIL ONLY! made for wet clutches.

cool, good on the oil, Have you adjusted the cable to the point where when you pull the lever you have a little "freeplay" in it before it moves the clutch arm on the trans?

If you have freeplay in the cable and you are running good oil, and it still grabs late you are looking at getting new friction discs.

If your clutch is on its way out it will slip more in the higher gears.

just bit the bullet and get a new clutch, my rm's clutch was slipping, and it turned out to be burnt, worn blued spacer plates( the silver discs) i wouldnt idle in gear which got really annoying, and that made it difficult to get in neutral. got me a new clutch, and wow what a difference, all the problems went away.

when installing the clutch, be sure to soak the components, in oil for at least 15 min before you install it, and then when you first start it ride the clutch a couple of times to ensure that everthing is seated properly..
