There is alot of difference between cdi manufactures. The actual top speed will vary due to that. If you are looking for "top end speed", why not install a new rear gear? I do know HPI makes a good cdi box for the Pred 50.

I can't comment on how much more speed you'll get, but I do know that replacing the CDI is a must have for that quad if you want to ever get anything out of it. Our '02 Scrambler 50 would not even get into the power range of a good race pipe without swapping it. The stock CDI has a rev limiter that you cannot override.
There's some videos on our web site, APB-Racing.com, that should show you what you can get out of one of these.
