Balance, Throttle control, and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Asking someone on the internet isn't going to make you a wheely king. Just go out and ride and eventually you'll get it!

1.) sit at the back
2.) pull up when u accelerate
3.) when u get the scary feeling let off the throttle

put ur feet on the handlebars, sit back as far as u can while still maintaning a good grip, hit the gas and lean back, then take ur left hand off and wave at the girls in bikinis that ur passin on the beach. this is my own personal favorite way to wheelie, but it only works at pismo (gotta have the girls in bikinis)

1. Practice

2. Practice

3. Practice

hehe....people do them different ways.....you have to find what is best for you. Find a nice flat area and practice....teach yourself where the brake is (it's usually not your first instince to hit the brake in a wheelie) and you'll be set.

It's safer to ride them at slow speeds, but it's actually easier to ride them at fast speeds. The balance point changes accordingly.

What specifically are you having problems with?

one thing a lot of people are unaware of is that when learning to wheelie, you need to become super comfy with ur powerband. i know people who are riding in 3rd with it pinned and try to wheelie and it doesn't work. you have to find that sweet spot on the throttle that gives u the extra lil bit of power to help get the front end up. and don't be afraid of fallin off backwards, it never hurts and the bike wont come back on top of u. o, and listen to josh, he knows his stuff when it comes to wheelies.

josh- ne tips on the switchback wheelie? i'm having a bit of trouble gettin the front end in the air, i have to use the torque of my bike to get it up, so i can only do it in 1st gear.

***** and knowing ur machine. at first i was scared doin em my recon, now its second nature, im used ot the throttle and just remember u tap that rear brake and the front end will come right down. Fast. i used to drop it into gear, now i just st back and pull with my arms, it feels nicer on the tranny and i cna ride them longer c i sort of have my balance point in the bag.

I do them from a dead stop.....pop the clutch and bring it to balance point.....for some reason I always have to look over my shoulder once I get it up....I get nervous about hitting stuff I guess. A lot of people watch the grab bar to see how far they are, but I think it's better just to go by how the quad feels. This is just my way of doing them though, and is what works best for me. My buddy does them rolling in 1st standing up, then grabs a handful of throttle and brings it up...on a Warrior. That way is just too out of control for me and I don't like it...hahaha. Something about standing up BACKWARDS, at a fast speed in a wheelie doesn't sound too appealing to me.
