Default DAYCO responds to technical queries on Drive Belts. A Status Report

Dayco tech reps are in now contact with me (on behalf of some of the local ATV user community) about our issues over drive belt replacements for OEM belts on Kawasaki Quads. Dayco have expressed interest in our concerns and have been receptive to my comments and concerns, registered through their engineering people. This discussion is at a preliminary stage, but my expectation is that they will be using our input to examine their product design, from a user point of view. Possibly it could result in improvement to our options for replacing OEM drive belts at lowered costs, without trade-offs in service-life, drive-line damage or lowered reliability. At least they are interested in our input and possibly may re-design their product. If you wish to take the opportunity to add your concern to mine, send me your comments and I will collect these views to add to this process. This may be a light at the end of the tunnel, so let us try to be involved and helpful with objective and constructive input.

Be careful out there.

Bogtrotter,
Can you convinse them to build a drag racing belt for the Prairie and V - Force. One that is the same dinamics as the 360 belt but 10mm longer!! I use a stretched 360 belt for top end plus it has excellent wear properties.

I have a 360 belt & only used it for maybe 40 miles now.. While at idle in N, you can hear the belt flying around those clutches, not real loud but kind of anoying, maybe it just needs to break in I dont no.. it also seems to have a higher stall with the Dayco on, I dont like that either, seems like the belt doesn't grab as fast & might even slip a bit, doesn't make any slipping noise however.. These are the 2 things I have noticed thus far

Hey, therock, why do you have the 2018, when the rest of us have the 2017? Is it shorter, wider, thicker, tell me the difference so I can order one. My belt deflection, with the shim removed with the 2017 is still more then 1.5 inches!

the dayco HP2018 is for the 650p, alot of ppl are going with the HP2017 (700p) because they are a little shorter. while im at it the HP2019 is for the 360p.
