what should i do? sincerely, a disgusted polaris owner

Right now I own an 03 sportsman 600 and am completely at a loss. In the first month I owned it the rear A-arm bolts snapped which was under warranty. Later, off warranty the front differential exploded and a shifter bushing broke which was $1100 repair. Then the 4x4 wouldnt disengage which turned out to be a faulty speedo, $300. The latest, I brought it to my dealer for a service and this is the list they told me over the phone that was wrong with it: A leaking front differential and rear differential which needs to be resealed, a leaky transmission (said may be cracked) and , a broken rear cv joint, 4 bad ball joints, 2 new front a-arm bushings need replacement, Completely new rear a-arm bushings and seals, bad rear wheel studs, and oh yeah a CRACKED FRAME when i have never ran into anything or flipped it over! All this comes to a grand total of $2000!!! I don't drive like gramps but i certainly dont abuse the machine which would cause these repairs. Im only 17 and dont have alot of money to pay for these repairs. So what i'm asking is what would you do in my situation, sell it, fix it, or finance a new quad (definitely not a polaris).? take that list of crap they say is messed up, Find it online for 1/3rd the price and Install yourself and do it all for about prolly 400 bucks? prolly less since the dealer is prolly chargin ya a grand in labor and mega markup on the parts.

How many miles on it? Sounds like you do a lot of mudding with all the seals leaking. I was 17 once and I know I didn't maintain or clean my stuff much. Not saying you don't. But many of those fixes are easy and cheap to do by yourself. Plus most dealers will tell you the littlest things that might be wrong so they can rape you on the bill.

yes, i bought it new and i don't do any mudding i always clean it and do regular maintenance. Theres about 1500 miles on it. Maybe i'll do what oneflycowboy said and fix it myself?

Polaris resale price is not very high compared to other bikes... I would do a convience deal. I would also take it to an other dealer and get an second dealer. My brother had a Scrammy with lots of scammy headaches. He got it fixed and said well it's working so I would run it one more week and sure enough it would break and he would be paying more and more. Then one day he drove it right from a polaris dealership to a honda dealership. I would look at a ATV with a 3-5 year warrenty if you finance a new one.

Man , I think I would grab the polaris dealer that sold it to you bend him over and drive that sportsman strait up his tail pipe !!!! ... Naw thats probably overkill and I doubt he knew it was going to do that its probably just a lemon. crazy cause a long time ago I had a polaris and I beat the crap out of it and it never broke down. It took my cousin to get runover by a truck to finally kill that thing..

Sounds like you have a lemon, but it took a while for everything to fall apart.
I'd sell the bike now, before you are out any more money...
BTW, I too have found Polaris to have rather low resale value.
