Slipping Rincon Trans
#1
If the temerature is cold outside the trans. on my 2004 Rincon slips badly for the first several minutes until the motor warms up. Have other people had this problem? Is it normal?

By a belt drive they don't slip when they get cold! LOL I would take it easy until it's warmed up. I don't know it if's common but the Rincon that I had out last winter was slipping a little until it was warmed up. Bring the idle up a little for the winter.

Thanks guys. I will try the synthetic and see if that changes things. So, you think this is normal with the Rincons?

I suggest the use of Honda's 0w-30 synthetic oil, and ask your local service dept. for a copy of service bulletins concerning proper warm up procedures for the Rincon. I believe the warm-up proceedure was sent out in the form of a service bulletin, to dealers, or in the Honda technitions copy of "The Wrench" newsletter.

Yes, this is common to all Rincons. After a few minutes of warmup they will work like normal. They need a little while to pump the torque converter full of oil as it seeps out after sitting overnight. rooster
