well i got the carb working alot better now but still a little slugish out of the hole till it picks up some rpms then hang on now i have 39pwk running a 163 main 35 pilot about 1 turn out needle second from the top i get a slight hesatation then hang on not sure if i should drop the needle 1 more or go with a 160 that i have ? the porting realy helps out

depends how much stumble is off the line....if you are satisfied with your top end and the plug check is good, then leave it and go 1/2 position on the needle. Your need should have come with washers, put the washer on the bottom, assuming it isn't there already....then ride again, if its still stumbling off the line, then move the clip up one position and put the washer back on top....if that doesn't work.....
you could have two problems on your low end, not enough gas or too much....the above assumes it is running lean....if you went from the 163 to a 160, that would assume you were running rich....have to play with it...but since you said it screams on top end, just play with the needle...

i think the hesatation can be taken out from turning in the pilot it just seems to be slugish till i get on the main then it is fine it just does not pull real hard till it gets up in rpm

looking at your pics,,,,,
wow, some people have all the luck!!
looks like you have some beautiful riding areas. kinda like elkbow and a few others that live up north. i would love to ride there.
do you like your bears claws on the sportsman platform? never seen them on a sportsman. so what do you think?
i have a set on my scrammy 500 4x4 and i love em.

yes i like them the work well compared to the stock tires they are flat across the tread so you get more tire on the ground and 6ply helps to i had 11 miles on the 500 and a stick went through the tire i was pissed they put 2 ply crap on these bikes. the vampires work even better but are heavy i was thinking of swaping them but they work so well on the 2 wheeler
