Last winter I had my recon out in the snow, and the only problem was my tires were bald and I had to keep it reved high to go up any steep hills. I can't wait for the first huge snow fall, so I can do some jumps (snow softens the landing), and test out my sur-traks.

more agressive tires for sure, my freind Rick put Wooley Boogers on the back of his Kawasaki Prairie 300 two wheel drive and it made a HUGE difference in were he could and could not go, sometimes i question my choice of a more expensive 4x4.

A 2wd in snow will be fine as long as it isn't too deep.

Try tire chains...they work well in snow, or you could put studs in the tires but I don't know if they will work on quads with factory tires.
But studs are more for ice...the chains would be better.
