Default most power on pump gas?

Hey guys-
I'm back in the market for an ATV and can't decide if I want another DS650 or to build a 400 Scrambler. I know I want the straight line speed of the DS650, but I also love the gas-it-and-go of the Polaris. How much can be done to the 400 engine with it still running on pump gas(93 octane) What mods would I be looking at and what kind of horsepower would it be putting out? Thanks.

I think you can be running in the upper 60's(hp) and still run on that octane........the sport would be faster than the ds, for the money. Plus they are a blast to ride once they are fast.

You'll need to get a clutch kit, new carb, clamp on filter, possibly big bore kit and wiseco piston, polish and port job, head, pipe, possibly lightened flywheel, possilby oil block off/starter eliminator, and more..........

You could call Rick Ritter and he could set you up real well........

With the work that is done to my scrammy, it runs very good. I don't know the HP but I would say about 55 to 60 hp. I run 93 octane pump gas in it with no problems. Everyone I ride with thinks it's very fast for a 4x4. Like Bradracer18 said give Rick a call and he will answer all your questions. He is a great guy and does great work.

You could also do a 7mm stroker on 92...12-1 compression. Put the race pipe on and it will fly.

your also runnin higher compresion though, 1fastpolaris has a 7mm stroker so he knows whether or not he can run 93 octane. just depend on how your motor is set up.

My 400 runs on 110 and both of my 250s. I've seen a 7mm on pump and it runs really good.
