Default The New Hauler Ripper Sand tires

So what's story with the new Paddles I see listed? Anyone seen a test report on whether these are worth the extra $$$? I'm for a used set of 22" Extremes but thought it would nice to find out if something better is on the market. If anyone wants to try out these new tires and has a descent set of Extremes, let know, maybe I can help offset the cost alittle.

Hey Kirby, Did you use up another DS or just looking for a spare? .
Rippers are a thicker paddle version of the taller hauler and made for realy high hp quads, just like the extremes are beefier versions of haulers. I don't think anyone on here needs them unless they are doing a streetbike motor swap.

gasser has a pair, they come off the line well but seem to cause to much drag on the top end. the street bike engines might need that much tire.

I have a set on my DS650, and they work great for general duning, hill climbing, and even play racing. I don't think they work quite as good as Extremes do for drag racing though. I bought mine because one of the areas we ride requires riding over a few short stretches of exposed rock in order to get to the dunes, and the Rippers are killer tough. It is pretty much impossible to tear them up, so they were worth the extra money to me.

What about the weight of the ripper. I know that is the major advantage of the Skat Trak is how light they are. Are these Rippers so tough they are considerably heavier than the Extreme. I to need something that is tough for where I ride but still would like to have something light.

I have not actually weighed them, and my Rippers are mounted on my DS650 so I can't just carry one into the bathroom scale to weigh it. However, I have 22" nine paddle Rippers on my DS650, and 25" nine paddle Extremes on my Prairie 700, and the Rippers are enough heavier than the Extremes that you can tell the difference just holding one vs the other. So yes, Rippers are heavier than Extremes. It must be the actual tire carcass that is heavier as well, because there really isn't that much difference in the actual paddles themselves.

Thanks for the info, so your 22" rippers are heavier than your 25" extremes
