Although this has not been anounced yet, and maybe never will. Please check the throttle cable where it passes close to the ECU module under the hood. I have not heard of this happening on any other machines but an aquaintance of mine could easily have been seriously injured/killed or even injured/killed someone else!!!!
The throttle cable became jammed/stuck against/around the ecu module and when he turned to the right, it was as if he nailed the throttle. Fortunatly he was only slightly injured but managed to take down a brick wall and the front end of his EFI is totalled. He just recieved notice from Polaris today and it looks like they will cover it because it was their fault. Keep in mind he was fully insured yet it seems like Polaris is going to pony up!!!! The cause was determined as an improperly routed throttle cable.
Please, pop the hood on your machine and verify that the cable has nowhere to bind up on when you turn full turn to either side. His symptoms were a slight throttle increase when he turned the quad the day before. It worked fine and has been basically flawless for the initial 3,000 km. If you are not mechanically inclined, take it to the dealer and have the routing checked.
He was with his wife who was in an appropriate passenger seat when this happened while leaving a restaurant. He had 2 choices, go through the front door of the restaurant and take out some innocent people or hit the brick wall. Even though his judgement was excellent and he turned off the ignition about 6 ft before he hit the wall, he still managed to do all this damage. This should be taken VERY seriously!!!!!!!!

Jeff,
Thats old news and only for 2004 models, not the 2005's...they fixed the problem on the '05s, not a problem. This was a Polaris recall....
There are alot of cables still on the '05s. There is one problem on the '05s, the access cover located under and in front of the upper headlight pod comes loose because of the cables running through there. I put in two metal screws through the plastic to hold it in place and made sure the cables weren't binding...
