Do tires really make me fat?
#1
The New Polaris SP800 weight over 170 pounds (almost 30% more) more than the Brute and P700. The Polaris guys are saying that because Polaris puts on good tires and the Kawi's 2 ply tires don't weight much and if they were on the same rubber they also be over 700 pounds.
Would new tires really make that much of a diff? Or are the Polaris boys just smelling too much gas?

the polaris boys are smelling too much gas. i dont think 4 25's tires would add up to 170 ponds. i dont think any 4 tires would add up to that. polaris just doesnt know how to design quads like honda can. and yes honda IS better than polaris so dont try to say polaris is the best cause theyre not.

The wheels and tires they put on the Brute are very light. Even with the heaviest 25" tires and wheels I think it would still be considerably lighter than the 800. You would need to go with a heavy 28" tire, such as my zillas, to come close IMHO.

well first of all you need to find out if they're comparing the tire to the same type or not.... 2 ply wont hold as much as 4 ply tires on waight wise and how long they'll hold up on diffrent types of terrian usually really rough types or hallin heavy loads around

Polaris is putting there own tires on called PXT’s. They did use the Carlisle Radials. Badlands XTR Radials were 15 pounds front and 20 rear.
I would guess to say that the PXT's are only slightly heavier if any. You may be looking at 10 lbs total weight over stocker Dunlops.
You are still looking at a 760cc not the advertised 800 that weighs 160+ lbs more dry weight over the 749cc BF.

Tell you polaris friends then that they will be bloated and exteamly overweighted to the point where their machines wouldn't move if they put real tires on their machines. If that was the only factor on Polaris weight problem, I think loosing weight would be easy.
