I have run both the gators and mud lites, sound like the gators are the way to go for you. Gators have a very tough carcass, the mud lites are good but not a durable as the gators and seem to wear faster.

I have had great luck with my mudlite's, they wear fine, but then again I am going to a radial.
Good luck in your choice.

Gators are very tough and last for what seems forever. Mudlights wear very fast in comparison. I do a lot of road running and they ride smooth. Great in all conditions. Keep the air pressure up above 5 psi though if doing a lot of rock climbing. If not they make break the seal and loose air. This is specially true in cold weather, below 20 degrees.
There real great in the gunk.
