1st post, have been lurking in the back ground of this form for a year or so.
and i have picked up many tips . these are some of them
my son rides a lt 50, as he is now comeing 6 years old, it is not fast enough for him ( so he tells me )
so instead of buying a new quad, IT had to be modifided for a year until he grows bigger (and i have the money to buy one ) wich one, i ask my self.
so out came the restrictors, head+ inlet , drilled quarter inch holes in air box, removed small jet below the main jet ( throw it in bin ). Moved clip down one notch on carb slider, to four down from top,
skimmed 40 thou of head, reboard + 3.0 piston + rings set . head port + polished ( when porting head
you will need to cut a lot out of exhaust port, its the size or your small finger, cut it out so your thumb fits in to it, other mods, rentail bars, throttle (do away with thumb lever ) 3" wheel spacers each corner ( split the rim and fit spacer in between each side of rim ) Dont wast money buying a race exhaust just
cut 3 inches of the end of pipe + remove the baffle this works a treat.
when i have finished these mod it put a HUGE smile on my son face ( can not get him of it ) i realy do get dizzy watching him do dounuts, and as for wheelies lets say miles + miles ( thats with me on it ) no pulling it up , power wheelies. I hope this info is of some use to someone
what quad next 80 or 100 what make, any help would bea app

Welcome to this forum....

YES, it is priceless to watch a young rider jump on their newly upgraded mini and immediately give you smiles from "ear to ear". Makes those many long hours waiting for parts and "in the shop" well worth it.

Thanks for sharing your LT50 mods with us. I'm sure a few readers who have an LT50 (or simular mini) will find your info very useful. Especially if they are also looking for "proven mods" for their young rider's unit.

Your next size Youth Quad (re: 80 or 100) will mostly depend on the body fit of your young rider "at that time", and the Quad riding laws in your area. If you race, then you have to focus on the restrictions / limitations of your race tracks. If you trail ride, then you have to do your homework on Private property and public trail laws. For some authorities "its only the exact law" and for other authorities, it's about "proper body fit and rider control".

Hope this helps...

.
