Elkas if you dont mind spending as much money on shocks as almost half your quad cost. I run Ohlins on my +1 set up and absolutely love them. Ohlins may not be the most popular shock but they are second to none in quality and durability. I can race a 2 hour hare scramble and their performance won't fade one bit.

From what you suggested, in order of best to worst:

Ohlins, PEP, Elka, Works.

Axis makes a great shock too that fits between ohlins and pep.

AXIS,PEP,ELKA are top shocks. TCS is best for money, dont here from Ohlins anymore, dont see no pros use em.

I know its not a 300,but rode a YFZ with axis and another with elkas, and there was a more comfortabel ride with the axis. Works may be the cheapest but the cost shows what they really are.

Everyone I know that had works has to rebuild them more often. The seals seem to go bad quicker than the other brands.

i also have a 300 ex and i love it. i have elka fronts they are the best ever. they work so well and they are very easy to adjust i do alot of jumping and they have held up very very well. i have had works on other quads and on the rear of this one they take for ever to get from the factory to you and they are just ok they do the job but their qualtiy is nothing near elka and they don't perform half as well
