Default ITP C-series wheels

Are the C-series wheels strong enough to ride in the desert? I really like the way they look but I'm curious about them being able to handle the hazards of desert riding. I dont get hugh air but I do get airborne at times. I more concerned about rocks!!! Anyone know how they would hold up?

Sure they are strong enough. I run them on my 4wd Foreman. It has a bigfoot kit with the c-5 wheels. Just have put a set of the c-10 wheels with mudlites on my godsons sportrax for christmas. Check out the thickness of these wheels. You will see alot of steel wheels around this area that are bent especially on the bead lip area from all the rocks and such trail riding around here. The aluminum ITP wheels get scratched , but I havent seen the first one chipped or broken. As a matter of fact, the sportrax stock wheels are made of aluminum and are about 1/10th the thickness of the ITP wheels..I sure like them.

You are way better off spending your money on ITP Baja rims! I run them with ITP Holeshot XC tires, and it is a great combination. It widens the bike +3" in back and +2" in front. I would only run C-series with sand tires, out in the dunes where there are few hazards.

Sure people run C-series on utes. I run the old Magnum rims (predecessors to the C-series) on my Ranchers. But, those ute tires are tall and offer a lot more rim protection than sport bike tires.

Have a little style and go with the C series wheel. It's strong enough to do anything you want to do or they surely would not be selling them, especially in the dealerships as well. Look around, there are 6000 pound 4wd SUV and trucks out there that come from the factory with aluminum rims. If you compare, you will see that the ITP wheels are just as thick if not thicker than the ones on these trucks and SUV's. Handling a 500 or 600 pound atv is nothing for theses wheels.

It's not the weight that is of concern, but the dings that you will no doubt get in the lip. The Baja's have a reinforcement ring, so that is way less of a problem.

I very much liked the old ITP "Edge" rims (rolled edge like a stock rim). They were darn near indestructible too.
