Looking to get a 02 400ex. Twist thottle, full set of paddles, full WB system, rev limiter, nerfs, bars and is in supreme condition. Buyer wants $4500 Dealers in my area have 04's for about $4600 then I'll still have the additional costs of tax, lic, prep, etc, plus full exhaust and paddles

Is this worth it?

I wouldn't pay more than $4K for an used 400EX, unless it was extremely modded. If you could pick that one up for about $3500-$4000 then it might be a good deal.

 

For that price you could get a brand new 04 and get the upgraded carb already on. Not to mention having a brand new machine and not one thats 3 years old.

 

get a new one

 

for an 02 in great shape (stock) around 3300

an 01 3000 or less

 

sounds like that guy wants you to pay for all his aftermarket stuff

 

Just got word that the 400 is a 03. I was misinformed by a buddy of mine. The quad is out of state but will be going on the same Glamis trip that I'm going on, so I can really take a good look

Don't pay that much for a used one. I have seen $3999 for new 04 400ex's. Thats a smoking price, about 4500 out the door.

 

buy new avoid the headaches. that guy wants to much.

 

got mine for 2800$ with 300$ boots brand new(the guy never rode it)
