Trying to find a 2 seat kart like www.desertkarts.com -- panther
#1
I've spent a couple of weeks looking for a manufacturer that builds a 2 seat kart similar to the single seat panther at http://www.desertkarts.com/ -- but so far I've been unsuccessful. I really like the size of that kart -- and the one I will buy can't really be any bigger than that (I plan on riding on some fairly narrow trails). However, I would like it to be bigger than the 2 seat 150cc kpx/dazon/carter ... karts. The market between these smaller karts and full-on sand rails seems to be sparsely populated. If anyone can point me in the right direction without getting into the custom built arena -- I'd appreciate it.

You might try these guys Ridge Runner Mfg. They had a article in Dirtwheels in the Dec. issue. Also have you talked to Greg at Desert Karts? He may have a design for a two seater.

Thanks a bunch -- it looks like ridge runner is just about dead on with what I'm looking for. It might be right just a couple grand over my price range right now though (looking to keep it 13K and under).
As for asking the guy at Desert Karts -- he has a message in the feedback portion of the web site that says there is no 2 seat kart yet, and he'll post some pictures when he's got one. Sounds like he's been bothered before about this -- so I didn't want to bug him again.

Try these guys,
http://visionmotorsport.com/default.php
I talked to them at a show and was very impressed, they were the only ones that ran larger diameter tubing, dual drive chains and disc brakes all the way around , and these are NOT the same at as the Dazons or Peirspeeds.
Their new stuff I saw at the show doesn't appear to be on the website yet, but its much better than what's currently on the site. The new stuff has 250cc motors and they hope to have a 600cc motor in the next year or so.
The guy is very knowledgeable and polite, I don't have his card in front of me now, but just ask to talk to the owner and he can probably email you with more info.
I don't work for them but would like to offer my services for testing out new products, for a nominal fee of pizza and beverages of course.
