MBRP Exhaust for 03 650
#1
I am picking up a MBRP slip on this morning. Just wondering if anyone has put one on and knows if a jetting change is required? I haven't ever change jets on a 4 stroke motor. Is it any different than a sled?
Thanks

good luck on the Powertech! Buddy has one on a Rincon and boy it's a really NICE pipe!! Normally anytime you get more air in or exhaust out faster you'll have to go up in jet sizes. with a slip on you'll generally go up one size in each carb. Full system and intake mods you may need to go up two plus sizes. Jetting them is pretty easy. Be carefull with the screws on the carbs......they are SUPER SOFT and strip eaisly. i suggest you replace them with hex head stainless bolts. you can pic them up at Lowes, Home Depot, Sears Hardwear, etc......
IF i were you'd i'd see how the stock jets run in it first. If it's running a bit lean then move the rear jet to the front carb and put a 145 in the rear carb. Your stock jetting its 138f/142r. most people have good results with the 142f/145r setup. If you've ever had any thoughts about installing Thunder Products Dial-a-jets on the Prairie just leave that thought in your head. They are a pain to get running properly. I've went through two sets of plugs and now have the stock jets back in and the DAJs boxed up ready to send to a person that wants them........i swear they will get to you eventually Mikeyboy.......
again good luck

ps.....be sure to let us know how you like the MBRP......i've seen alot of ppl post that they bought one then never give a review...........maybe they are explosive and kill the rider when they fire them up???? heh

Thanks for your suggestions Cartman. I also picked up the Napa hose yesterday. However I don't have a warm shop to work in and it's -27C outside this morning! It's supposed to warm up on Tues. So I will be waiting until then to put on the pipe and the hose. Thanks for the heads up on the DAJ, I was thinking about those. Hopefully you are wrong about the pipe blowing up and killing the rider! Or mabe I should install after X-mas. Heh. I'll be sure to add a short review after the install.

Just wanted to put my two cents in. I got hooked on DAJ also and I agree with the rest of these guys, they suck! My bike has never been the same. I am in the process of taking them back off, but when I put them back in the box they are going in the garbage!!
