Default Rough day for Kawi's, thefts take all.

Well, I received a call from my storage unit land owner this morning. I arrived to the unit to find our trailer pulled through the back wall of our metal storage unit. The trailer was empty, looked like a war zone with our extra tires and parts lying in the trees. The bandits stole 4 atv's off our trailer. 2-Brute Force 750's, Prairie 650, and a Polaris 600. Three of the atv's were locked to the trailer with Fulton Atv locks. They cut the u-bolts on the trailer that held the atv's on. 2 of the atv's they either compressed the suspension enough to get the locks off or destroyed the atv. The Brute's were covered under insurance, the other's, well you know the story. Keep an eye out for a red and green Brute Force with after market wheels and tires, a red Prairie 650, and silver 600 Sportsman. They were stolen from Mckinney, TX. area.

Bottom line of this story is don't under estimate the crooks. Spare the extra expense for locks and cut proof chains. Don't let what happened to us happen to you. Maybe one day these theives will give up.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you can get them back or get them replaced.

That $ucks, real sorry to hear. We had the same thing happen in our town last winter. They hit one storage facility one night and the other the next. Luckily the first area maintained video cameras. Couple of local knuckleheads. We rounded them up and recovered most of the property.

I have heard that renters insurance will cover theft losses from storage units, might be something to consider in the future. I need to get it myself.

This should be a wake-up call for all of us.

Did they open up every storage locker or just certain ones? Might be a clue as to who the cowards are.

WAY off topic here but how DID you like the bi/tri claws?
Hopefully they will find your bikes or the storage place had insurance.

that is sad! just like M/M said locks are only there to keep the lazy crocks away. my wife told me to chain mine to my car lift, i said why. i have everything they need to remove any type of anti theft device i would install. so why bother.

your storage unit should have some type of insurance, dont they.

Storage unit clearly states they do not cover contents. Our only hope is that Home owners will cover off premises items. Any suggestions from anybody for high security chains and locks. I am searching the web and find chains and locks for up to $300.00. I still tend to use the storage unit in the future. But we will be willing to dish out some cash for higher security locks, chains, tie downs, or etc.

I cannot give a good review on the bi/tri claws. I only rode on them one time and it was rock crawling terrain. They did extremely well for a mud tire and they were smooth. I have had Bridgestone Mudhook exxtremes and vision wheels lately and that is what I was currently riding with.

That's damn shame man. Sorry to hear about it. Hope insurance will cover it.

I have a friend in the Dallas area who had 2 ATVs stolen last year. They smashed in the door of his garage, loaded the ATVs on the trailer took the trailer and all of the tools they could pack off even the 80 gallon upright air compressor. The cops told him that these days when ATVs are stolen they are probably over the border and into Mexico before they finish the paperwork. He was pretty sure his neighbors across the street either did it or had something to do with it but he couldn't prove it.

That was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back and he is suppose to be moving either to eastern Idaho or northern Missouri in the spring depending on which job he gets. Had it with the crime and other problems down where he lives now.

Man that blows, damn crackheads I bet. That makes me wonder, I have insurance on my quad . If it was stolen I wonder would they replace it or just pro-rate it and pay me what they think it's worth hmmmmmm? I'll have to check into that . With all the mods it's worth more now than when I bought it.
