Default Need help..


Ok heres the problem, I was changing the oil on the 2003 400ex and i got down to the oil filter.. took the old one out put th new one back in started to tight the bolts and the long bolt on the right side SNAPED and now there is part of the bolt stuck inside there.. its not that big of a deal right now because im parking it.. but i would like to know if i can store my quad without oil in the tank or motor.. and how much do you think it would cost to get the screw took out there.. if its even possible?? i need help asap ppl gime sum advice here..thx

Default Need help..

to get the screw out take a small drill bit and drill a hole in the middle of the broken screw tap an allen wrench into the hold and turn it out... i would definalty store the quad with fresh oil in it

Default Need help..

Should be fine if you just store it. New Honda mowers, generators, and unasemble ATVs are shipped and stored without oil in them. You should be fine. Just remeber next spring not to start it without getting it fixed. Call your local machine shop, they should assist with the removal of the screw. Or follow Polaris's idea, and if so use a high quality drill bit, one with good bite so it wont slide around and hit the threads.
