I just called and found out they are open. 1-706-695-6736 is the number to the ranger station over there. You say it like House-ton . It it is one of the best areas to ride in GA. It has like 25 miles of trails. However, another person told me they thought it may have closed. It is ~10 miles West of Dalton, Ga.

i went in november. a previously killer trail was pretty tame. i guess after the flooding and repairs really changed it. it's still a good place to ride though.

sorry , my wonderful ISP has been down for over a day,
You would go up 75 to exit 336, that is 41 north. go about two miles and take a left on 201 (south) then go about 1/4 mile and take a right on Houston Valley Road. Go 7.2 miles and take a left on CapeHart. Follow Capehart to it's dead end and that is where you park. Really big parking area. That would be a haul for you It takes me about 1.5 hours from Dawson County, GA

I went Monday. I took two videos and my camera went dead didn't bring new batteries. All I can say is MUDDY!. After two minutes of riding I must have picked up 100 pounds of mud. There is one trail that is a pretty long water crossing so I could clean up there. One part is so mudded out that I got stuck on the VForce but my wife wenched me out with the BF. Also, crazy bikers every where driving like mad men, sorry mostly kids. One kid did a face plant right off my back left wheel in the parking lot. He was about 9 years old and as I crossed the parking lot he tired to zip by me I locked up my breaks or he would have plowed right into me and when he saw he wasnt going to make it he did the same but his angle put his face into the pavement. Thank God he was wearing a helmet. He was ok but shaken up a little.

I thought the trails for the most part were pretty good. I think the mud kept the speeds down some what but if it were dry I can see how the new trails invite high speeds and maybe danger. There is one long and VERY wide trail that hits the water crossings in the videos. I took that trail and it goes back and splits into easy and hard. I went back a little on the hard one but my wife didnt want to go back. So when I started to have a hard time on the vforce I turned back. But all the problem were with the mud. Btw, the BF had no problems at all with the mud. And when we got home my wife told me she never even went into 4 wheel drive.

we got there about noon and by 2pm it was very crowded mostly with bikes. I didnt stay much longer.
