Need help installing a new clutch on a 99 warrior!
#1
Hi, I just bought a 99 yamaha warrior a couple of months back and need some tech advice for replacing the clutch plates and springs etc. I've noticed that something is slipping when i'm riding. The motor revs and I don't go with it. I checked the locknut on the axle and it seems tight. I've felt that same feeling when the locknut became loose. I'm guessing it's the clutch slipping. I've changed a clutch on a honda cr250, 2 stroke dirt bike and it was an easy fix. I've never tried to change one on a fourstroke quad.
Does anyone know if this is an easy fix or should I have a shop do it. Please share your thoughts ..

Get a Clymer's manual. They are a must have when workin' on your quad. They give you detailed instructions along with pictures. It doesnt seem to be very hard at all.The only problem is you have to have a special tool.It says if you dont have it that you can fabricate your own.Hope i helped.L8ta!

Thanks swain. I think I'll take your advice and get a manual. I had a feeling if I took it apart I would run into that special tool thing.... I also read that barnett clutchs are very hard and that one arm is like popeye, NOT sure what to get now.....
thanks again....
thanks again....
