Dirt Wheels still not proof reading; 05 Foreman
#1
From the great minds at Dirt Wheels Feb 05 we are expected to believe the following Foreman 500 info;
1) Rear suspension is swing arm with single shock. Actually has double rear shocks.
2) All three shocks are preload adjustable. Actually all 4 shocks are non-adjustable (unless some new technology unlike any other pre-load adjust shock on the market).
3) Equiped with THE SAME reliable "Traxloc" 2wd/4wd switching device. Actually all new lighter and more reliable "Traxlok" switching device on front axle.
4) The tested "S" model (foot shift) was peppier and livelier than "ES" (electric shift model). DW questions if this is due to the electronics of ESP versus no electronics with foot shift. Actually once the shift is made there is no difference between the two.
5) DW made a big deal out of the ESP model not down shifting by pushing down shift button while parked. Actually this is normal and only requires that you get down shifted before stopping or if stopped then rock back and forth.
6) DW recommends not buying the Foreman 500 if you expect to drag race your buddy on a 300EX because you will get beaten. How can we believe anything when so much of what they say is flat wrong even though this may be correct stock for stock.
7) Sure it isn't the fastest or most exciting machine to ride, even with it's new "SUV" styling. But the whole package is overall so very good-the engine, brakes, cornering, suspension, etc.- that no one great thing overshadows the rest. This is a quad that people will probably name "Old Faithful" because it will run forever and almost never cause a problem on the trail. Well I can believe that.

I buy DW for the pictures. I don't read through the magazines like I used to. I've grown tired of the little "mistakes". DW isn't the only magazine that makes mistakes.
I did read the Foreman article. It seemed like they think that the Foreman is ............ well........... adequate. No more, no less. That's just the feeling I got from the article.
Sometimes the little mistakes are made because of shortcuts. They'll use info from the previous year even though changes have been made. In this case, they are just wrong about certain things.
