How much difference would a Cobra Jet exhaust make on a 230 quadsport?

On mine it really didn't feel like it added alot of power but definatly got louder. The difference wasn't like when I put the pipe on my 300ex. But there were some power gains, just be sure to rejet it good.

I'd hate to rain on your parade, but few, if any pipe/silencer combos are going to increase your HP to any great extent all by themselves..certainly not 4hp, and the Cobra least of all. What a good pipe DOES do is alter the power band to give better response in the low/med or high area of the band.

Don't say that until you've rode every piped machine.I rode my cousins STOCK 300EX.The power wasn't all that. The next week he installed an FMF pipe and header and let me tell you it woke it up.All he did was add the fmf pipe and silencer and rejet the carb.I don't know how much horsepower it added, but it definetly helped.

bermbanger.
I'm afraid you have misinterpreted what I said in my reply. His question was whether a certain exhaust system would make a difference in total horse power, not whether it would improve performance. Obviously I haven't "ridden" every machine. I do know that the Curtis Sparks I run has made a noticable improvement on my ride but doubt seriously that it has made a detectable difference in total horse power.
