After reviewing all of the information I could find on various sport/utility quads I picked a Green 2000 4x4 Kodiak. Much of the information that swayed my final decision came from the reader’s comments on this site. I feel for the riding and work I will be doing with this quad I have made a choice and am very happy with the quad so far.

However, the shocks are squeaking something fears. I am wounding if this is a common problem with the Kodiak? Plus what others have done to correct this problem.

I also have a 2000 Kodiak and love it. I took delivery on 6/15/00 and solved my squeek by applying WD 40 on the front shocks, shock mounts, and A frame mounts. Don't know where the squeeks were really coming from, but the WD has eliminated any squeeks for 3 weeks now. The only negative about the quad is I've had to replace all 3 sets of brake pads because of excessive wear after about 500 miles. The brake pad wear seems to be a common complaint. Ride on!

The shock sqeeking is common on the Y2kodiak. The solution is easy. Loosen the bottom mount by 1\8 turn or 1 flat. It will go away forever and the shock will still be fastened tight.
Somthing else to look at is all the air duct connections for the belt housing cooling, intake and exhaust. The hose clamp type fasteners on some shipped too loose letting water in the housing. Make sure they are snug.
