HMF Install time in Rancher?
#1
How much work is involved to install an HMF in an 05 Rancher?
Are these so loud they can be annoying or is the sound a nice smooth loud tone???
Inquirering minds want to know.

Living in CO I ride at about 7-11000 ft, my jets are stock which tend to run rich, I have a k&n filter and opened up the airbox which helps, do you think if I do the hmf I would not have to re-jet as the pipe would equal out the mixture? At sea level how many jet sizes did you go up? Also is a Z400 a 2 stroke?
thanks

EASIEST upgrage you will ever do is the pipe..only takes a few minutes. Takes a little longer to rejet the carb and replace the needle.. The whole job shouldnt take you over an hour and half tops. I have installed one on my Foreman and installed one for a friend on his racher a couple of weeks ago. According to the paper work with the jet kit and our elevation, the Rancher's main jet size was increased two sizes..The Foreman on the other hand, said to lower the main jet size one size for our elevation. It makes a big difference on the Foreman, especially if you run it without the silencer insert, but on the Rancher 4x4, it will pull the front wheels when he hits second gear now. The rancher runs without the silencer and doesnt sound too noisey at all, just a good deep tone similiar to racing go-karts. The Foreman is way too anoying of a noise with the silencer removed, so i modified it to get the best of both worlds.
