spyder6,
Is there anything you can tell me or point me in a direction about this. I'm new to the forum and have read some about the Power Commander. My p800 is stock (for now) and I would like more information of what the PC would do you my P800. What else would help to increase the performance? Thanks for any input.

lets see as you know the PowerCommander attaches to your 800's Bosch computer and changes everything about the spark electricity and the fuel pressure and optimising how long the fuel is squirted into the engine and stuff. so. any type of PC would work as long as it has a USB connection and is relatively close to the PC, but to make it the easyest a Laptop would probebly be the best option to choose as its right there. it dosnt come programed so you would have to download the maps from Dyno-jet which is in my above link for the maps, and set up the power commander, which i amagin shouldent be too hard, ive never done it myself.
other things you can do for your quad is to get a K&N airfilter, people have tried to strangle me over this, but its true in the fact that it will add 8 or so MPH on your top end and a noticeable difference in torque. you can also buy a exaust set for your 800, but as of now there is no manufacturer making a exaust, rumor has it though that Pure Polaris will have something out in the spring. you could also buy a clutch kit to match whatever type of riding you do, say you want it to grab faster for faster take off or you want as much gobbing torque as possible but really dont care for the top end. your choice on that. a higher compression set of pistons would be nice too, but those arnt made yet either.
you could also add a K&N oil filter to improve the life of the engine, if you have any problem finding the right filters for your quad on K&N's website, the air filter is from a Polaris 700 F/I motor, and the oil filter is from a 2004 Polaris 700 F/I. dont worry that they wont fit, the 700 and 800 motors share the same oil filters and air filters.

the Dyno-jet carb for the 500 H.O. makes a world of difference, its alot more touchy to weather conditions however. but theres ALOT more low end grunt and the responce time for the throttle is alot better. your engine needs to warm up fully though before the jetting reaches its full effectiveness alot though.

Thanks. I noticed that you just live a couple hours from me...lol. I live up in the corner where Ohio, W.Va., and Ky. all meet. We got a lot of really nice homemade trails we ride on up here. Would probably scare a lot of people. I know what you mean about Michigan winters. I have worked in Michigan a lot the past 5 years and those winters are pretty harry. I'm wanting an 800 but I think I'll wait a year or two. The 500 is more than enough where we ride. I just want more bottom end response and I was hoping either the dyno-jet or maybe a dial-a-jet would help. Other than changing to a flatslide carb, that is.

yeah, if you have the stock jettings and stuff still, you'll notice when in high and you just ease the throttle a little bit the belt wont grab untill a few more RPMS are reached, with the jet kit it grabs imidiately, however im still unable to do any wheelies with it as all the weight in the front... sure squats a hell of a lot when you stab the throttle though
yeah, i miss michigan weathers, everyone here spazzed and crap when we got like 8 inches of snow, and im the whole time like, WTF? anyway, but yeah, i bet you got some nice trails over there, over here our land is mostley clay and limestone about 20 inches below the surface so no mud holes can be made but hey, atleast i can make a few jumps happen

i doubt it, but theres a chance, if your really worried about it i would ask your local dealer, were i live the dealers are good 'ole boys so you know your not getting screwed, i asked them when the power commander was going to be out for my 8, they didnt know but he said alot of people have been asking about them, so i figure if it was going to screw with the warrenty then they'd mention something.
i know for a fact however that a exhaust and a new air filter wont effect the warrenty however, theres probebly a listings of stuff that violates the warenty in your owners manual.
