Anyone that has ridden a Recon knows that it is a light-weight, nimble quad that is great on the trails, and fun for everyone.
The 250EX is the same quad, but with 50lbs less weight, better suspension, better front brakes, and a sporter look.
I thank Honda for making the perfect quad for my girlfriend.

Thanks for the comparison, 250rampage; my prediction (usually wrong), the Recon won't be in the inventory much longer--too similar to the 250ex, I think, or am I missing the point?
(Proving I'm usually wrong, I doubted Honda would bring out ANY new quad, this soon after the Rubicon.)
I respectfully request your verification of carburetor size (22 mm) listed for these two machines. Now, I KNOW Honda claims, in its website factory specifcation sheets, the carb is 22 mm. THAT'S A MIGHTY SMALL CARBURETOR! Even, I think, for a 250cc engine. I suspect a mis-print.
Any Recon owners out there who can physically verify their carburetor bore diameter? 22mm? Maybe, but I think some lawnmowers have larger carbs. I wouldn't argue, if they said, "32mm," but 22mm sounds small to me.

seems to me it is basically a sport Recon? but wow i like it. A huge pile of these Honda will sell, you know most companies forget that not everyone has 6000 or more for a good quad, now honda has a 250ex shaft drive sport machine light as hell! Great for woman or kids and actually anyone looking for a good reliable good LOOKING machine. I would buy one. And honda is releasing a 4 stroke water craft very interesting! Whne is honda going to jump into the Snowmobile ring?

they could be looking at dropping the recon in the future
but this area of the market is still perceived as worth chasing by the other manufacturers
all of the other brands have a 250 2x4 (and/or 4x4) in there product range
but i also notice that they are not new designs.....ie polaris trailboss still looks like the 1990 version (but it now has concetric drive)......timberwolf?.....suzi kingquad?....artic cat.....bayou 220 and 300
honda must see a derived demand for an entry level sports quad.....big jump between 90cc and 300ex...(if you think about it....why do people buy polaris 250sports bike?.....blaster....?)
hell....in two wheel bikes you can get an 80,125,250,500 (2 strokes)....thumpers?....80,100,125,200,250,400,65 0......follow?....why can't the atv mkt have the same
good to see them making this quad
but it is to the demise of the bigger boys at the other end of the market.....( one day me)
never mind......next yr maybe
just another view point!
