dead 800efi
#1
Would anybody have a clue why this 800efi died on me? It is getting power to the headlight, winch, etc. But will not turn over the starter when the key is fully turned. The battery has 12-13 volts . It sucks breaking down 6 miles out in the middle of nowhere riding by myself. Thanks

Do you have power to the starter?
What kind of conditions were you riding in, IE: did you get it wet, muddy?
Find out where you have power and where you don't and follow the flow.
You say you have power to your lights and winch which means you have power to your igniton switch in the Run position but do you have power in the start position?
On a new machine its probably a loose wire that the assembaly dude forgot to tighten
Be glad you were only 6 miles away instead of 60.
Good luck

Tap the starter with a hammer. Sometimes they stick.
Im sure you have, but check the terminals going to the starter and make sure they are tight and not corroded. Loose or corroded battery terminals will also cause a click
Also check your voltage drop while engaging the starter. Use a multimeter, directly to the battery and engage the starter. See how much it drops!! Maybe you have a dead cell in the battery.
Another thing, This quad is brand new!! I would have my dealer get his *** out there and get the quad, or if you have it at home, they should be fixing it.
Just a thought
