Default xr600 in 200x frame?

Hey guys, I hope this question doesn't sound too elementary, but I can't seem to find any info here or anywhere on this swap or one similar. I hear conflicting stories whether or not this engine bolts in or if it will require extensive fab work. Can any of you gurus answer this or lead me in the right direction?? thanks again...

Well, it shouldnt be all too extensive as far as fabrication goes, but a few mounts will surely be needed.

It's not a direct drop in. You'll have to do some significant modifications to the frame.

umm I am thinking just ABIT more than .. alittle fabbing .... I am thinking more like EXTENSIVE. ..

Taking the head tube off .. extending the frame 6" or more... lowering the frame to accomedate the longer cylinder/head ... etc ..
More work than its worth I am thinking.
BUT, I like custom stuff, so if you have skill and time/money, get er done.!

Man, that sounds like a little more than I want to do to this ole thing. Is it just the 200cc engines that interchange in this frame or is there any other thumper motor you all can think of, that would be a good candidate? I appreciate the input guys

Was anyone here an avid "Dirtwheels" reader back in '98, if so, do you remember the xr600 they dropped in the aftermarket trx chassis? I was going through some of my old mags the other day and that got me thinking again. Well come to think of it, they had laeger modify it for them I believe, anyways, thanks again.
